Fric-Frac: Croque Monsieur paradize
After the burgers, let’s try another French culinary institution: the Croque Monsieur. At Fric-Frac (which means burglary in old Parisian slang), this well-known sandwich is elevated among its peers! Frederic Lalos (French craftsperson of the year recipient) bakes the bread, while hand-selected ham, chicken, salmon, and fresh produce make the meal.
Look for “Titi” on the menu: 5 kinds of cereals bread, Parisian ham, bechamel sauce, and Emmental cheese. On the vegetarian side, the “Winnie” Croque Monsieur with goat cheese, dried fruit, honey, and shallots is a winner. You can eat on the spot or take away, it’s your choice!

Djawa restaurant: Indonesian street food in Paris
Djawa, one of the restaurants close to the Canal Saint-Martin, is a trendy spot! Be on your way to a culinary road trip to Indonesia. In a lively decor, enjoy stew dishes or wok food, with products from the far east (lemongrass, ginger, coconuts milk, star anise, galanga…). The food is prepared right in front of you, and a vegetarian version is always available. You will drool over when reading the menu and seeing the beautiful plates go by.

After achieving huge success with Miznon restaurant in the Marais district, Eyal Shani launched a new place near the canal Saint-Martin! Discover the paradise of fresh, warm pita bread! Start with sweet potato and grilled cauliflower, followed with a meat pita (also available with fish). For dessert, go for the pita bread stuffed with chocolate and banana!
